Job Title: Controls Engineer
Job Description
Oasis Materials manufactures high-performance Aluminum Nitride ceramic heaters used in multiple industries (Semiconductor, Medical, Defense, Aerospace, etc.) and is looking to hire a controls engineer to develop its in-house, purpose built control systems.
The controls engineer will work closely with Oasis Material’s partner, Third Wave Labs, to develop, build, and troubleshoot the control systems that make our heaters the best in the world. The controls engineer will also work closely with Process and Design engineering to communicate with customers regarding their controller needs and to integrate the controls systems used in testing to evaluate new parts. The position requires both knowledge of control theory (PID controls, “Fuzzy” Logic, etc.) and experience with controller hardware (reading wiring diagrams, troubleshooting connection issues, etc.).
Responsibilities and Duties
- Work with Third Wave Labs to develop and test control systems for individual customers and for general engineering tests. Including software development, hardware troubleshooting, and HMI development.
- Communicate with customers to determine controller needs
- Work with Process Engineering to integrate control systems into part testing systems
- Troubleshoot existing control systems when needed and perform minor repairs or improvements where needed
- Assist sales in demoing and showcasing controller technology
Requirements
- S. in Engineering (Electrical Engineering, or a focus on Control Systems Preferred)
- 2+ years experience working with controls systems
- Basic understanding of thermodynamic principles
- Working knowledge of linear systems, feedback control, signal processing, and signal filtering
- Ability to troubleshoot and work collaboratively on C/C++ programs
- Ability to solve problems and implement solutions to complex problems with available resources
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written
- Ability to use MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
