Internal and External Channels in Aluminum Nitride
The high thermal conductivity and low coefficient of expansion of ALN can be employed to take heat away from semi-conductor devices through internal or external micro cooling channel layers added to the multilayer circuitry. This can either be used in temperature transition applications or simply just to remove heat from hot devices like laser Diodes, server processors, or power modules.
